My family visited this week and I did a quick sketch of my sister and her current hair colour whilst on the tube around London. Here she is!
Wheels on the bus...
One of the many buses I see parked on Lambeth Road near my work, drew this one on my lunchbreak one day.
Life Drawing Monday
Enjoyed another life drawing class this week, my second one since doing them way back on my foundation course in Norwich in '99-'00. Tried some different materials for the first time – ink, watercolours and some coloured pencils. All good fun, roll on next week!
Everyday objects (watercolour practice!)
Getting to grips with watercolours after not really using them, ever. Really like the way you can get colour down so quick and breath life into simple line drawings... will keep going, so watch this space!
Urban Sketchers East London Sketchcrawl
Met up with these guys midday at Bethnal Green to experience my first 'sketchcrawl'. Was a really inspiring day and it was great to meet like minded sketchers! Including Ren (Lion Ren) who I did some sketching with on Columbia Road, he knocked up this drawing of me in no time - very impressive! The area we walked around was full of life, with street markets, really old pubs and lovely shopfronts - which all proved very sketch-worthy. I look forward to the next meet up.
A visit to Rectory Farm
Spent a few days back in Norfolk late September to visit my family and friends. Amongst catching up with everyone myself and my other half stayed at a farm, campsite and fishery my friend Richard looks after to take some photos for a leaflet for him. It involved an early start in order to get the best light, which was hard work! I drew our adventures as illustrated below...
